Through a series of creative workshops, the young artists explored photographic techniques and imaginative approaches to making images. They were encouraged to communicate their own experiences through visual art.
During the weekly sessions, the teenagers, aged between 13 and 16, worked with project artist Maeve Lynch and Glucksman curator Tadhg Crowley to investigate ideas of movement and expression through photography. In workshops with contemporary dancer Inma Pavon, they explored improvisation and how movement can be a representation of individuality, while artist Darn Thorn taught the group about photographic techniques and ideas of scale, exposure and lighting.
Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, the exhibition will take place at the Glucksman and throughout Cork city from 13 October to 28 October 2018.
